ZAFCO Aiding Pakistan Flood Victims, through IKFR Fund
DUBAI, UAE, October 25, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — In response to the unprecedented flood disaster that devastated Pakistan, ZAFCO through its chosen charitable institution – Imran Khan Flood Relief Fund donated more than AED 30,000 enough to feed approximately 250 affected victims of the massive floods for 30 days.
Imran Khan a sports super star – former Pakistan Cricket Captain turned into a philanthropist, humanitarian, Chairman of the Board of Shaukat Khanum Hospital (the only charity based cancer hospital of its kind in Pakistan), an ex member of the Parliament and leader of the political party Pakistan Tehrik – e – Insaf, launched the fund after the floods, which as per the UN has affected more and caused more devastation in Pakistan than the Asian Quake, Haiti Quake and the Tsunami combined.
The ceremonial donation hand – over was held at ZAFCO’s Corporate Office in Jebel Ali Free Zone. Mr. Gopiraj KV, Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Aftab Khan, VP for Marketing of ZAFCO handed over the donation to Mr. Ali Zaidi, President of Imran Khan Foundation, a US based registered NON Profit Charity.
In his remarks, Mr. Gopiraj KV called for compassion on the immense devastation and appreciated the work IKF is doing to provide relief to the flood victims.
“Aside from our endeavor to participate in activities promoting the environment and efforts towards a green community, ZAFCO is very much committed in the pursuit of social service. We will continue to develop and strengthen our 
humanitarian assistance programs at ZAFCO”, he added.

Imran Khan sends 2,000 bags of seeds to AJK flood victims
ISLAMABAD: A consignment of 2,000 bags of wheat seeds was dispatched to AJK on Saturday for the flood-hit farmers by Pukaar of the Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman Foundation (MKRF) and the Imran Khan Flood Relief Fund (IKRF). Imran Khan, while seeing off the convoy of 10 trucks carrying seeds, announced that a scheme had been launched to provide wheat seeds to every province without any discrimination for flood-hit farmers owning 25 acres of land. The scheme will cost Rs600 million and benefit 200,000 affected farm families.
Under the scheme, certified and good quality seeds will be made available to farmers for 150,000 acres of land. He said that houses, micro credit and health facilities were also being made available to flood-affected people by the MKRF and IKRF. In this connection, Imran said, six villages rehabilitated in Noshera district of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa would be inaugurated next month. Speaking on the occasion, a Dubai-based Pakistani businessman, Salim Murad, hailed efforts being made by MKRF and IKRF for relief and rehabilitation of flood-hit people.
Later students of Islamabad and Rawalpindi donated their pocket money to MKRF and IKRF flood victims. The donations included Rs400,000 each from Preparatory School and SLS, Rs200,000 from Head Start, Rs100,000 from students of Beacon House, Satellite Town, Beacon House Margalla and Foundation School, and Rs50,000 from students of Roots Public School Islamabad, Islamabad College of Arts and ICAS. Imran lauded donations of students. Salim Murad presented a cheque for Rs20,000,000, 100 generators and five houses each costing Rs8 million for orphans.

Imran Khan ki Pukaar raises over a £105k for the flood victims of Pakistan in collaboration with MKRF in UK
(London Oct 10) – Imran Khan Flood Relief (IKFR) UK held a very successful charity dinner on October 9 2010 at the Coliseum Suite in East London. The dinner was sold out with more than 600 guests attending. Key sponsors were Lahore Kebab House (Mohammad Siddique) and MKRF (GEO).
The speech was followed by a short Q&A, and an auction in which Mr Khan participated fully. The evening ended with a raffle and entertainment by artist Qasim.

Four Million Dollars and counting.
We had set a donation collection target for Sept 30th 2010 at $4 million.
On Sept 28th 2010, we were short of $4 million by approx $300,000, although we had over achieved all our previously set goals.
I am humbled and pleased to announce that once again, by the grace of GOD we have achieved our targets…in fact over shot it.
As of close of day Sept 30, 2010 the total funds collected by the Imran Khan Foundation US stood at an astonishing: $4,025,627.00
In the last two days , we collected approximately $55,000 through various small on line credit card donations and checks/wire transfer that were sent to IKF Bank Account.
HOWEVER, THERE WAS A DONATION MADE OF $250,000 FROM A SINGLE DONOR ON SEPT 30TH 2010 WHICH PROPELLED US PAST OUR TARGET.
We thank you all for spreading the word, organizing fundraisers, collecting donations, motivating people, donating your money, your time and your energies for this worthy cause.
Let’s keep the ball rolling.
